What’s all This Rodman/Korea Hoopla? PLUS Watch Footage of the Game

This is mainly for all the ladies who had been wondering what this Dennis Rodman hoopla is all about. I’m  a basketball fan and even a Rodman fan, but I’m not that politically inclined, soooo when I saw the NBA star going off (once again) with some guy on CNN, I had to find out what was really going on.

Dennis Rodman was in North Korea with other former NBA players for a basketball game against the North Korean Senior National Team on the birthday of the country’s leader, the infamous Kim Jong Un.

The American team consisted of OG players Kenny Anderson, Cliff Robinson, Vin Baker, Craig Hodges, Doug Christie, and Charles D. Smith.

Kim Jong Un, an actual friend of Rodman’s,  imprisoned Kenneth Bae, a Korean-American Christian missionary who was  sentenced to 15 years hard labor.

Rodman, the controversial former NBA star  elicited widespread condemnation Tuesday when he suggested in an exclusive interview with Chris Cuomo of CNN’s “New Day” that  Bae had done something to deserve his 15-year sentence.

After Rodman apologized for his comments regarding  Bae and for flipping out on Cuomo, he then said it was not his job to address concerns about the repressive state of Korea or  lobby for the release of the detained U.S. citizen.

What was shocking, even for supporters of the American team to watch, was Rodman (on Wednesday) leading a singalong of “Happy Birthday” to the leader of North Korea, a man he calls a friend and a “very good guy,” but considered by many a brutal dictator who recently ordered the execution of his own uncle.

That same day, Bae’s family accused Rodman of “playing games” with Bae’s life. Relatives and U.S. officials have insisted Bae committed no crime.

In the end, North Korea won the game.

Fellow player Charles D. Smith later admitted that he felt the game may have been a mistake due to the Bae situation, but said he would continue to stand strong with his decision to play the game.

Cruise Compares Being an Actor to Working in the Military?

The week of Veteran’s day Tom, come on.

Recently Cruise’s lawyer and the defendants (Bauer Publishing’s)  lawyer exchanged several emails about the actor being away from home and his former family (Katie and Suri) for months at a time. Somehow the comparison of Tom’s movie roles and the military came up. The defendant’s lawyer surprisingly brought up the comparison to Cruise in court.

When the opposing lawyer addressed Tom about his lawyer suggesting that him playing his numerous roles in many films over the years is more difficult than the jobs and roles people play in the military.

So the opposing lawyer asked him, ” So you’re saying that you’re job is more difficult than those in the military?”

At first, Tom seemed to agree with the claim, but he soon caught on saying,  “Of course not.”

But before that, Tom seemed to be agreeing with his lawyer.

This seems to be causing a backlash toward Cruise, therefore making him seem like more of an missing father.

HUNK ALERT! Jamie Dornan

20131024-132930.jpg

Either you’ve seen Jamie Dornan and know who he is or you don’t know him, but did a double take and said “Damn!” when you saw his pic.

He  may be the hottest thing in Hollywood since David Beckham. (I’m just saying)

The former Calvin Klein model is taking on the role of kinky billionaire Christian Grey in the film adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey, based on the novel by E.L. James.

Dornan was reportedly the first choice after Charlie Hunnam backed out of the project on Oct. 14.

Dornan will join the cast as the kinky billionaire alongside Dakota Johnson, who has been cast as Anastasia Steele. Production is scheduled to begin Nov. 1. Lucky gal.

Food Network Drops Paula Deen After Racist Comments

It was bound to happen, but who knew it would be so soon.

The Food Network has already yanked Paula Deen from their roster after the top grossing star apologized to the world with two videotaped apologies about her unbelievably racial and ancient comments regarding blacks and slavery.

Her conversation with an old employee sounds almost whimsical and reminiscent of a post Civil War era. Deen was describing her desire for her brother to have a ” plantation” style wedding where servers would be all middle aged black men in white tuxedo jackets and black bow ties.

Deen was scheduled to appear on The Today Show on yesterday ( to discuss the allegations), but never showed up, sending the cast a statement from her reps that she was exhausted.

Hours later, she posted a highly edited and insincere apology, only to take it down hours later and re-post a more elongated plea for forgiveness.

With media and whole world dropping their jaws at Deen’s whimsical account of the good ‘ol slavery days, the Food Network later announced that they would not be renewing the southern chef and restaurant owner’s contract at the end of the month.

Paula Deen is worth $17 million from her combination of TV shows, restaurants, cookbooks, kitchenware, magazines and flavored butters.
