It’s Official; Robin and Paula are Seperated

Rumors have been bubbling for months now and finally, after 20 years of friendship and nine years of marriage, Robin Thicke and Paula
Patton are indeed seperating.

The couple released a statement, saying,

“We will always love each other and be best friends, however, we have mutually decided to separate at this time.”

Details of Robin’s cheating most likely have drawn the couple apart. It all started with his MTv VMA performance with a twerking Miley Cyrus all up against his goods and later that night he grabbed a female fan’s butt. Weeks later, he was spotted overseas with a big haired beauty dancing and even kissing! But these are only three of the incidents! There’s a slew of photos across the web of Robin posing quite intimately with women.

The high school sweethearts married in 2005 and just had their son Julian in 2010.

Both Drake and New Black Female Actress Ace Their Skits on SNL

Drake Does Jewish Rap, Mentions Rihanna and Pokes Fun at Lil Wayne and Jay-Z

I’ve to this day, never watched an episode of  when Drake was on Degrassi High, so I’ve been very curious about his acting skills. I figured he was a great actor, but who knew he would totally take the SNL audience and run with them.

Watch these clips from his audience hosting night on Jan 18.

In addition to Drake acing his skits, New African American comedienne Sasheer Zamata made her debut on the the show. Although she had no skits where she carried the plot, she definitely got her feet wet as the newbie. We can’t wait to see what she will do later in the season. Check out her skits….

Beyonce Headlines the Chime for Change concert Sponsored by Gucci

The fight for women’s rights gathered thousands at the Twickenham Stadium London on Saturday night.

A-List celebs Madonna, J-Lo, Timbaland and many others joined to support Beyonce and her “Chime for Change” campaign, which advocates equal rights for women and girls worldwide.

The highlight of the night was Bey and Jay-z’s Crazy in Love duet. The crowd went wild when Jigga kissed his wife, symbolizing that a strong woman can empower others, (even her man) to take a stand.

Another memorable set was Mary J Blige and Jennifer Lopez performing a rendition of the Beatles Come Together.

Other attendees and performers included Florence and the Machine, Jada Pinkett Smith, Pippa Middleton, Sarah Ferguson and daughters Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, Blake Lively and Jessica Chastain whom all donations will benefit female victims of human trafficking, sexual harassment, rape and sexual slavery and other disgraces in over 200 countries.

Founded by Beyonce and backed by Gucci, Chime for Change also brought out the likes of Frida Giannini (Gucci Creative Director) and Salma Hayek Pinault, whose husband Henri Francois practically controls the Gucci brand and many others.

By the end of the night, fans were singing along as queen Bey belted out ” Girls! We run this mutha!” and $4.3 million raised for the cause, with ticket sales going to the purchasers charity of choice.

Hip Hop Legend Ms Melodie Passes Away

The legendary Ms. Melodie has been on my mind all year. I’d been asking my old hip hop heads what happened to her and even Google’d her a couple times. At least now I know she’s in a better place.

She was the first female hip hop artist to break down hip hop’s stereotypical trend and show us that a big girl could have the respect and love of her male counterparts.

The former wife of KRS-One, real name Ramona Parker, passed on Thursday at age 43.

She released her first single The Hype According to Ms Melodie in 1988 and her only album Diva in 1989 on Jive Records. Her memorable video Live on Stage featured many famous rappers (unknown at the time.) And who could forget her cameo in the non-violence anthem Self-Destruction. She also appeared in her mentee Queen Latifah’s video Ladies First.

At this time the cause of death is unknown.
