Rossie O’Donnell has revealed that she has stopped drinking. Recently, on an episode of Tyra Banks Show, she admitted that is was her son who convinced her to stop. He apparently told his mother that she had been drinking too much beer lately and that he thought she should stop.

She also admitted turning to her friend Madonna for advice about menopause. TMI to know about either one.

 McNally Smith College of Music in St. Paul, MN, has announced the introduction of a Hip-Hop Studies Diploma program.  The program, which kicks off with the school’s September 2009 fall semester, is the country’s first accredited college-level diploma devoted to the study of hip-hop music and culture.

Courses in music (including music theory), the language of rap and spoken word, music history (from the African diaspora to hip-hop’s origins in the South Bronx in the 1970s to today), recording technology, rhythm studies, and the music business make up the core of the diploma’s curriculum.

Founded in 1985, McNally Smith College of Music is devoted to excellence in music industry higher education and in developing music industry professionals.

According to Duluth, Georgia police, Brian Dalyrimple, member of R&B group Soul For Real, is apparently in connection with an identity fraud case.

With over 200 victims, whose theft total $1 million, Dalyrimple also had an accomplice Laborah Crawford, who is being held at Gwinnett County Jail.

Dalyrimple also has his 10 month old son with him.

“He was the biological father and the child was turned over to the grandmother in custody and then he went to the day care, picked him up and left with him,” said Maj. Don Woodruff with the Duluth Police Department.

Police are unsure how the two collected the victim’s information and they have no reason to believe that Dalyrimple’s son is in any danger.

Rick Ross, the current diss target of 50 Cent recently told MTv:

“My freestyles as you could hear them, Kiss My Pinky Ring, I do them in 20 minutes and put them out there. Those crumble empires. People listening to how potent the music is. That’s all this really is for me. I’m not really excited yet. All this is a platform for me to show people how talented I am. How much better of a lyricist I am. So if [50] sold 10 [million], my next album should sell 12.”

If you ever get a chance to attend one of His Royal Badness’ all-stary bashes, don’t block your blessing. Receiving an invite that mentions a performance from Prince, automatically means celeb spottings everywhere. Take it from the stars, Prince knows how to party (even after 1999.)

Although Prince usually celebrates the Oscars with an invite-only bash at his Hollywood Hills home, this year, the locale was club Avalon in Hollywood and you know the line was around the corner, even for industry insiders.

Celeb attendees included Eliza Dushku, Taraji P. Henson, Taye Diggs, Alicia Keysand Queen Latifah.

At 1:39 am, His Sexiness finally took the stage with a Purple Rain intro that transformed into a funk session. Later on, His rendition of the Beatles Come Together

got the party extra-crunk, yet ultra cool. Then, after performing 7 and Cream (a rare treat,) the crowd went wild when the band segued into The Bird and then Jungle Love.

A Paisley party doesn’t last forever. Soon it was time to go. But if you’ve ever been to a Prince show, you know he would never leave you without one last favorite, which turned out to be I Feel 4 You.
