balfour, but who cares?

William Balfour entered his plea Tuesday at Cook County Criminal Court in Chicago.

Balfour is the estranged husband of Jennifer Hudson’s sister, Julia Hudson. He’s accused of killing their mother, brother and Julia Hudson’s 7-year-old son in October.

Prosecutors have said the murders stemmed from a quarrel between Balfour and Julia Hudson over another man.

Balfour is being held without bail. He is next due in court Jan. 27.

Jennifer Hudson is expected to sing the national anthem at the Super Bowl on Feb. 1.

Prosecutors first asked that the case be reassigned to another judge, though they did not give a reason. Presiding Judge Paul P. Biebel Jr. then reassigned the case and Balfour entered his plea in the final courtroom.

Jamie Foxx surprised guests with an unplanned performance rejoicing the Presidential Inauguration of Barack Obama.

Before presenting R&B singer John Legend at the Declare Yourself party on Sunday, Foxx took the mic.

Foxx began to rap and beatbox, to the shock of party guests such as Jessica Alba, Hayden Panettiere and Adam Levine who later performed with his band, Maroon 5.

An onlooker tells WENN, “He came out and started doing this rap and everyone started chanting Barack’s name.”

But Legend was fast to break up  the crowd’s joyful reaction for the 44th President, adding:
“Just because we love Barack doesn’t mean we don’t have to hold him accountable too.”

Massachusetts Sen. Edward Kennedy was removed from a post-swearing-in ceremony luncheon in National Statuary Hall Tuesday due to what is being called a medical emergency.

Kennedy, who is fighting malignant brain cancer,  experienced a seizure, but is resting comfortably, according to Dr. Edward Aulisi, chairman of neurosurgery at Washington Hospital Center, where Kennedy is hospitalized.

“Senator Edward Kennedy experienced a seizure today while attending a luncheon for President Barack Obama in the U.S. Capitol,” Dr. Aulisi said Tuesday afternoon. “After testing, we believe the incident was brought on by simple fatigue. Senator Kennedy is awake, talking with family and friends, and feeling well. He will remain at the Washington Hospital Center overnight for observation, and will be released in the morning.”
