LOUIS VUITTON AND GUCCI REJECT T.I. SINGLE

Although the Swizz Beatz produced Swing Ya Rag was set to be a video off T.I.’s latest album, Paper Trail, Louis Vuitton and Gucci, two labels mentioned on the track don’t want the attention.

T.I. told MTV recently that he has a video set and ready to go, but it’s going to dwell in the vaults.

“We did it, and it came out hot,” Tip said of the video. “Louis [Vuitton] and Gucci started trippin’ about it. They were saying we were infringing, in one way or another. They weren’t happy about it. They didn’t want it to come out. But it’s hot, though.”

T.I. hopes to unite once again with Jay-Z, Lil Wayne and Kanye for a video for the single Swagger Like Us.

“I hope we can pull that off,” he told MTV, which would feature Jay-Z, Kanye West and Lil Wayne. “That was the definite intentions initially. We have to see when everybody is all available. I’m available whenever they are.”

BRITNEY’S TRIAL DISMISSED

After three days of deliberation, a mistrial was declared Tuesday in Britney Spears’s misdemeanor trial for driving without a license. The jury was deadlocked 10-2 in favor of the singer’s innocence, the foreman said in open court.

“The jury is hopelessly deadlocked, and I declare this a mistrial,” stated Judge James A. Steele, who later dismissed the case.

HALLOWEEN TREAT: JASON VORHEES IS BORN AGAIN?

Horror movie geeks (such as myself) should anticipate the upcoming flick Friday the 13th, the ’80s classic horror movie remake about the serial slasher named Jason Voorhees. The film’s teaser premiered at the Scream 2008 Awards.

Just like in the original, in this remake two  young councilors find the abandoned Camp Crystal Lake’s cabin that was once Jason Voorhees’ cabin. Discovering the cabin, the two soon find that  horror is prowling in the evil dwelling when they are suddenly attacked by something from below the cabin.

Due to launch in theaters on February 13, 2009, Friday the 13th is directed by Marcus Nispel and the script is by Damian Shannon and Mark Swift. The slasher movie, features Willa Ford and others and chronicles the killing  of teenage camp counselors at Camp Crystal Lake as they labor to reopen the camp for special need kids.

LIL WAYNE APPEARED IN COURT AFTER BET WEEKEND

After winning 3 BET Hip Hop Awards on Saturday night and celebrating for the weekend, Lil Wayne was in court on Monday for drug and gun charges.

Lil Wayne’s assistant testified that he occasionally saw a handgun and people smoking marijuana on the award-winning rapper’s tour bus.

But witness Terry Bourgeois also testified Monday he never saw Lil Wayne with a gun and didn’t know whether one was on the bus in July 2007 when the 26-year-old rapper was arrested in Manhattan.

A police officer testified last month she got on Lil Wayne’s bus after a concert because she smelled marijuana. She said that while on the bus she saw him attempt to conceal a gun.

Defense lawyer Stacey Richman wants the charges dismissed. She says police falsely alleged they smelled marijuana so they could illegally board the bus.

The rapper (real name: Dwayne Carter) has pleaded not guilty and is free on $70,000 bail.

BRITNEY’S JURY CAN’T DECIDE

Approximately an hour after resuming deliberations for a third day, the jurors in Britney Spears’ misdemeanor driving-without-a-California-license trial posed yet another question to the judge and heard yet more arguments from both the prosecution and defense before returning to deliberate the singer’s fate.

“I have never seen this before,” Spears’ attorney, Michael Flanagan, told reporters of the strange proceedings. “I’ve never heard of adding closing arguments.”

The eight-woman, four-man panel, notified Van Nuys Superior Court Judge James A. Steele that they remained deadlocked.

Attorneys for both sides were then permitted to take five minutes to deliver additional closing arguments in an effort to influence the jury one way or another.

“Mr. Spears testified on her behalf that she had a valid Louisiana license with her at all times.”

The jury has been ordered to deliver an update, in writing, within 45 minutes informing the judge of whether they are making any headway.

The panel said yesterday they were locked at 10-2, but did not specify toward which verdict the majority was leaning.

The 26-year-old was charged with driving without a valid California driver’s license as a result of a fender bender that took place in August 2007. At the time, she was in possession of a Louisiana state driver’s license, something her attorney, Michael Flanagan, has long maintained should not be a problem, as Spears sustains a residence in the southern state.

NICK HOGAN RELEASED FROM JAIL

Nick Hogan, whose absolutely  reckless driving skills left his passenger/pal and ex-Marine John Graziano paralyzed from the neck down, is officially out of jail.

Hogan pleaded no contest in May 2007 to reckless driving.

But his sentence got reduced and he was released from the Florida jail early this (Tuesday) morning, into the  questionable custody of his sister Brooke Hogan.

He could have been in the pen for up to five years. But Graziano’s family requested a lesser sentence and he served 166 days of an eight-month sentence.

And Linda did release a statement about her son: “Nick went into prison as a juvenile and has experienced something that will mold and affect him for the rest of his adult life. His focus is to make a positive difference in this world, media-free. Since his future actions will speak louder than any words, there is no need to speak to the media at this time.”

Nick’s license will be suspended for three years. He also has to do 500 hours of community service. But Nick’s “actions” could also incorporate spending time to film a reality show that he wants to star in.

We’ll see what happens.

2008 BET HIP HOP AWARDS HONORS RUSSELL SIMMONS, LIL WAYNE, SHAWTY LO

Lil Wayne was named lyricist of the year and LL Cool J presented Russell Simmons with a hip-hop icon award year’s BET Hip-Hop Awards taped on Saturday in Atlanta.

The New Orleans rapper, who was nominated for 12 awards, was also named MVP of the Year and the Alltel Wireless People’s Champ at the ceremony, which was hosted by T-Pain instead of scheduled host, comedian Katt Williams.

The show featured a hip-hop matriarch medley that included MC Lyte, Yo-Yo, Salt-n-Pepa. DJ Khaled, Young Jeezy, Ludacris, Busta Rhymes, Big Boi, Lil Wayne, Fat Joe, Birdman and Rick Ross took home the award for Best Hip-Hop Collaboration for “I’m So Hood (The Remix).”

Shawty Lo was named MySpace Music Rookie of the Year.

T.I. also made this year’s show after pleading guilty earlier this year. (He is scheduled to be sentenced in March.)

Atlanta factored heavily into the night’s festivities, with a performance by Young Jeezy, Soulja Boy and Bow Wow.

The awards show will air on Oct. 23.

GUY’S IN THE MONEY, EVEN MORE SO…

According to TMZ and The Sun,  Madonna has already struck a deal with Guy Ritchie.

Apparently Ritchie will get $60 million in addition to a country estate and a london pub. Supposedly, the marriage has been over and the Madonna has been planning the divorce to coincide with her  upcoming movie and concert.

Of course, custody arrangements have yet to be made.
